Saxophonist. Woodwind Doubler. Educator.
Coming to you from the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA, my name is Nick Nutter, a saxophonist, woodwind doubler, and music educator. Currently, I am pursuing graduate studies at Duquesne University for a Master of Music in performance with a jazz concentration. Though I am back in the ‘burgh, I obtained my bachelor’s in music education from The Pennsylvania State University. As an undergraduate student, I studied classical and jazz saxophone with Dr. David Stambler as well as jazz improvisation with Marko Marcinko, Dan Yoder, and Rick Hirsch. As an active musician, I have had the opportunity to perform with world-renowned artists including Jon Faddis, Tim Warfield, Xavier Davis, Jay Ashby, and New York Voices. During the summer of 2017, I was a member of the Highfield Philharmonic Orchestra for the College Light Opera Company in Cape Cod, MA. Now, I serve as a graduate assistant for Duquesne’s Mary Pappert School of Music as well as a private lesson instructor for the Pittsburgh region.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Nick does not have any upcoming events. Check back for more!
This album is a live recording of part 1 of my senior recital trilogy. Recorded at First Presbyterian Church of Murrysville, PA, this afternoon features Greg Brkovich on bass and Drew Myers on guitar.
